Crop.video Makes Square and Vertical Videos in a Snap.

Online video is hot. For example, over 60% of online video views take place on mobile, yet these videos are often served in a too small or inappropriate format. However, the explosion of content and platforms makes it increasingly difficult for brands and publishers to customize their video.
“A missed opportunity”, says CEO Sjoerd Bleumink. “Vertical and square videos make much more impression on the viewer’s timeline. Research shows that if you offer a video in the right format, your video will be watched up to 9x more often. And that is where Crop.video comes in with a new smart online service, the size of online videos can be easily adjusted so that your video content on various platforms and social channels gets the impact it deserves. “
Crop.video uses smart technology based on Open Computer Vision. A video is automatically split into shots after uploading and makes suggestions for cropping based on face and object recognition. Crop.video is unique. Additionally, users can easily cut videos and add a logo and subtitles. It’s designed to help anyone, including people without video-editing experience.
Crop.video was founded by Bart Römgens, Sjoerd Bleumink and Steven Jongeneel. Bart is Software Engineer and graduated from the University of Technology in Delft and passed Cum Laude. Sjoerd Bleumink has been a video editor for SBS Broadcasting and FOX Network Group for the last 10 years. Steven Jongeneel is the founder of Social Embassy and Investor in Symbaloo and Ride.
