American Media Inc. Partners with Wibbitz to Expand Digital Video and Advertising Offerings

Wibbitz, the leading AI-powered video creation company, today announced that it has partnered with American Media Inc. (AMI), the legacy media company who pioneered celebrity and health & fitness reporting, to supplement its digital content with automated video. Popular AMI brands, Radar Online and OK Magazine, are leveraging Wibbitz’s automation technologies and enlisting Wibbitz’s in-house editorial team for support to scale video production. The partnership will help diversify and enrich the publishers’ video inventory, expanding their monetization solutions for advertisers.

AMI has maintained its number one position in the market for total newsstand circulation in the celebrity category for years, but it realized the need to strengthen audience loyalty across all of its publishing outlets. Even with its own video production team, the publisher still faced challenges in accomplishing their goal to produce a digital video for each of its magazine articles. Wibbitz’s automated video creation platform enables every editor at Radar Online and OK Magazine to quickly create videos based on their print stories by automatically analyzing text content and selecting relevant licensed media to match the storyline.

“As the first media brand to integrate print, digital, and mobile into one package for advertisers, we realized the huge monetization opportunity that digital video offers early on,” says Dylan Howard, Chief Content Officer at AMI. “Wibbitz’s automated video creation platform largely speeds up our video production process and diversifies our video content offerings, which opens up a lot more ways for us to work strategically with our advertising partners.”

To help AMI’s brands integrate automated video into their digital publishing workflows, Wibbitz’s in-house editorial team provides in-person and hands-on training sessions. Wibbitz’s editors also served as an extended video team for Radar Online and OK Magazine by producing videos for selected magazine articles with customized branding, graphics, and soundtracks. These services accelerated the process in building AMI’s long-term strategy for scalable video production.

“We’ve observed that integrating video automation into daily workflows can be a challenge for legacy magazine publishers in the beginning,” says Zohar Dayan, Co-founder and CEO of Wibbitz. “That’s why we provide editorial services from our in-house team of video producers to help shorten the learning curve. By leveraging powerful automation and personalized editorial support, AMI has quickly mastered our platform to enhance their video content offering for both their audience and advertisers.”
