Social video creation platform Wochit today announced that 30 percent of all videos created in March using the company’s platform integrated content from Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter. The findings demonstrate the increasing importance of social platforms in today’s media landscape, where posts frequently reflect, and even set, the news agenda.
The data is based on videos created on Wochit following integration of social content in the platform’s proprietary library of pre-cleared assets. Results show publishers welcoming the opportunity to enrich their own videos with this most-timely content, Since the beginning of the year, the number of videos created incorporating Twitter posts has increased 125 percent, Facebook posts 128 percent and Instagram 256 percent.
The real-time availability of these social posts, which are automatically brought into the Wochit library via API, significantly augments media companies’ ability to engage audiences with up-to-the-minute video on trending topics. The accessible assets include all content from Instagram, tweets with text and/or images and public content shared through Facebook. To date, the most frequently utilized social posts are news-related tweets, with the Associated Press’ tweet declaring Donald Trump’s victory in the 2016 election leading as most frequently featured in Wochit videos.
