Vimeo’s Video Translation Tools Are a Help for Global Brands

Vimeo is going international, and it wants to take you with it. If you’re trying to sell goods or services to non-English speaking markets, listen up. Today, the video sharing site made some important additions to its Vimeo Pro and Vimeo On Demand platforms, all of which are designed to help video-makers and video marketers reach beyond their borders.

vimeo_logoVimeo Pro and Vimeo On Demand now include captioning and subtitling tools, which are powered by Amara. Members of either service can use a self-service editor to create captions or subtitle their videos for free. Or, if they want to spend money for better results, they can tap the Amara network of translators for professional captions or subtitles. Paid services range from basic audio transcriptions to full-service captioning and translating.

Vimeo is also making its own site friendlier to non-English speakers with the addition of a Japanese language version. Vimeo also offers French, German, and Spanish translations of its site. Also, Vimeo now accepts 11 different currencies for subscription services.
