At OnlineVideo.net, we’ve been chronicling the growth of collaborative online video editor WeVideo as it makes partnerships and adds features. The platform is taking off: WeVideo announced that in October it had over 350,000 active users.
WeVideo also announced some useful new features. At the top of the list is the ability to select multiple items at one time. Users can now grab multiple clips or images from their media library and drag them to the timeline all at once. If importing multiple photos, users can apply the Ken Burns effect to multiple images at the same time, creating dramatic movement with still photos.
With more people using the WeVideo platform, media libraries are also expanding. Users demanded easier ways to manage their imported clips. That’s why WeVideo added a list view for quickly sorting through media files. In this view, users can sort their files for easy viewing. They can also erase files from within the editing tool by first dragging unwanted files into the preview window.
The team behind WeVideo have added a new page to the platform called Exports. Here, users can view all of their exported and published videos at one time.
WeVideo also now supports the WebM and WebP formats, and offers a simplified timeline interface. Improvements to the cloud backend will help WeVideo run smoothly with its growing user base. Finally, the platform’s Android app offers a refined interface and works with 8 new languages (for a total of 17).
