Companies using online video to sell products or services should take a look at what Invodo is doing to make the experience more involving. Invodo, which creates ecommerce videos, has unveiled a new version of its online video player. The retooled InPlayer adds useful tools for making sales.
The InPlayer now includes a shopping pane that sits next to the video. As shoppers watch an ecommerce video, they can browse through related products in a catalog-like experience. According to Invodo, this increases the average order. Previously tested with L’Oreal, this feature is now available to everyone.
Invodo videos can now integrate with a product catalog, a plus for companies with hundreds or thousands of items for sale. Using the catalog integration, companies can easily add videos to pages for new or existing products.
Invodo has also released new APIs that developers can use to create richer video ecommerce experiences, such as interacting with a video outside of the video player window. For example, the viewer could click a link that starts the video playing at a key moment in the middle, or click an image outside of the player to get the video started. Videos in a tabbed interface could be set to pause automatically when the viewer switches tabs.
Using the APIs, developers can also trigger events when a video is started, paused, or finished. They could display merchandise or promotions, for example, when any of those actions take place.
The retooled Invodo InPlayer is available now for new clients or existing clients who upgrade their player. If you have merchandise to sell and you’ve been looking for a comprehensive video system, read up on Invodo.
