Social Seed’s Free Tool Offers a Window on YouTube Performance

How do you measure the performance of your company’s YouTube videos? By looking at the number of views, right? What if we told you that there was more to measure than just view counts.
Online videos are meant for sharing, which is why London-based video marketing agency Social Seed has just posted a free online tool that measures a whole host of related specs. It’s not just how many people see your video, but how much they enjoyed it, and how often they shared it with others.
To use Social Seed’s YouTube tool, first plug in the URL of the video you want to measure. The tool then analyzes data from a number of APIs. In five seconds, you’ll have your results.
The tool shows not only YouTube performance, but also lets you know how many comments, likes, and shares your video has gotten on Facebook, and how often it’s been shared on the most popular social networks.
Perhaps the most useful results are those that measure sentiment and engagement. These let you know how many people enjoyed watching your video, and how many people engaged with it in some way. The scores by themselves don’t tell much of a story, so we recommend keeping a spreadsheet of video analytics. Once you’ve recorded the scores for many of your company’s videos, you’ll see which perform better than others, and that will guide you when planning new videos.
Take a look at Social Seed’s site and see how its free YouTube analytics can work for you.
