While Vimeo has a reputation as the place for artistic video makers to gather and share their work online, it also offers several helpful tools for new creators. Today, the site launched a new tool in its Enhancer video toolbox called Looks. With Looks, people can browse through hundreds of filters, preview the ones they’re interested in, and then apply the Looks of their choice.
At launch, Vimeo offers over 500 Looks, all powered by the visual platform Vivoom. Working in the Enhancer, Vimeo members can preview Looks on a frame from their own work, so they’ll see exactly how the effect will appear. They can even compare the original video and their enhanced video side-by-side in real-time.
Looks are sorted into genres and moods. Vimeo members can save their favorites for easy retrieval later. Once they’ve selected a Look, members can adjust the intensity on a scale from 1 to 10. They can also choose exactly where the Look starts and stops in their video.
For the next 90 days, Looks are free to all Vimeo members. After that, pricing is a flat $.99 per look. Anyone with a Vimeo account should dive in and start playing while the price is right.
