This year, the leading online video conference for Europe, Streaming Media Europe, has been rebranded Streaming Forum 2013. It’s still taking place in London, but the date has been moved up to June. If your company has an online video success story worth sharing, then you to be a part of the action. The organizers are especially interested in case studies from the corporate, education, sport, and entertainment verticals.
The signal-to-noise ratio surrounding the business and technology of online video and audio has become almost unbearable in recent years, but Streaming Media Europe has always held fast that its role is to be the filter of the industry, helping experts and executives focus on the issues and topics that matter today and will continue to matter in the future.
In keeping with that philosophy, the conference’s organizers are moving this year’s conference from the autumn to 18-19 June at the Park Plaza Victoria London. That’s a centrally located location just a short walk from Victoria Station.
The conference is now called “Streaming Forum, brought to you by Streaming Media Europe.” The organizers feel that better reflects the role that the Forum plays: a top-level networking conference and information exchange for the innovators and decision-makers of the industry.
It’s the speakers that define the event, and the Forum’s organizers have announced that the Call for Speakers for Streaming Forum 2013 is now open. If you’ve got an idea for a thought-provoking panel, an insightful paper presentation, or an innovative “how-to” session, submit your proposal now, before it’s too late. The deadline for submissions is Thursday, 28 February. In particular, organizers are looking for speakers who can share their expertise and vision in the following hot spots:
- Encoding and Transcoding
- Formats, Protocols, and Standards (especially HEVC and MPEG-DASH)
- Live Event Webcasting
- Online Video Delivery Infrastructure
- Corporate Communications
- Education and Training
- Media and Entertainment
