The annual Digitas NewFront conference is a place where A-list Hollywood talent and national brands meet up to plan online videos. Digitas has now announced which A-listers will be taking part in this year’s conference, which takes place on April 26, 2012, in New York City.
Featured on stage will be Emmy and Tony award winner Kristin Chenoweth, Bravo’s executive vice president and the host of “Watch What Happens Live” Andy Cohen, Academy award winner Jane Fonda, and “Parks and Recreation” star Rashida Jones.
The Digitas NewFront is more than a talent showcase, as it examines issues facing the online video industry. The theme of this year’s NewFront conference is “Big Content: From Video Bloggers to Blockbusters.” Panels will look at how long-form online content is finding a home in primetime viewing; how mobile devices and social networking are changing distribution models; and how content drives business results.
For the first time, the Digitas NewFront isn’t a standalone event this year, but is just one part of a two-week online video newfront season, where content creators will discuss plans with advertisers. During the two weeks from April 19 to May 2, 2012, Alloy Digital, AOL, DECA, Digital Broadcasting Group, Disney Interactive Media Group, Federated Media Publishing, Google, Hulu, the International Academy of Web Television, Microsoft, NBCUniversal, PopSugar, Vevo and Yahoo will also host their own NewFront showcases in New York City.
