Imagine loading your raw video footage to an online site, then letting your whole staff take turns editing it and creating its final shape. There’s no video to pass around, the online controls are just as good as you’d get with a desktop video editing program, and seeing other people’s changes is simple.
That’s what you get with WeVideo, a newly launched collaborative video editing platform. We covered the announcement of WeVideo two months ago. The service is up and running now, and its commercial plans are available to all.
The service offers four plans — one free and three paid. Free users can get 1GB of storage for their videos, 360p resolution output, 15 minutes of video exporting per month, and integration with the major social networking sites.
For $6.99 per month, users can try WeVideo Plus, which offers 10GB of storage, 480p resolution output, and 60 minutes of exporting per month. This version also removes a watermark from the finished videos.
The $39.99 per month WeVideo Ultra plan offers 50GB of storage, 720p resolution, priority processing, and an optional 1080p resolution.
Finally, the $79.99 per month WeVideo Commercial plan provides 100GB of storage and adds in 24-hour email support.
To celebrate the launch, WeVideo is offering the three paid plans at a discount. WeVideo Plus is going for $4.99 per month, WeVideo Ultra for $29.99 per month, and WeVideo Commercial for $59.99 per month. These offers expire at the end of December, but people who sign up before then will get the intro prices for an entire year.
“We are very excited by the business launch of our collaborative, cloud-based social editing environment, which redefines the way individuals and companies can create and deliver high-quality video messages,” says Jostein Svendsen, WeVideo’s co-founder and CEO. “Our WeVideo platform is built from the ground up for the cloud, yielding powerful functional and technical advantages. It can elegantly scale to serve the needs of one person or a full organization.”
