VidCaster Wants to Build You a Video Site

There are several free or low-cost options for businesses that want to add videos to their site. YouTube and Vimeo Pro, for example, make adding videos easy. But what if you need an entire site devoted to videos?

VidCaster, a young company based in San Francisco, California, is answering that need by offering professional-looking video-rich sites that be built in minutes. Users choose the template they like, customize the look, add their own videos, and they’re done. You don’t need to pay money up front: users have the option of creating a limited 15-video basic site for free and running it indefinitely, or launching a fully-featured trial site for two weeks for free to see how much bandwidth they’ll need.

Paid plans run from $39 per month to $249 per month, offering more bandwidth and storage, as well as syndication and advertising features, for the extra money.

While the service is meant for non-techie users, it offers helpful extras like video site maps to help with search engine discovery and analytics to see how your videos are performing.

According to Ray Pawulich who handles marketing for VidCaster, it beta launched in February of this year and fully launched in July.

For advanced features, VidCaster offers a helpful library of tutorial videos. Use them to learn how to add interactivity to video or use a custom domain for your site.
